Making Love in a Canoe wraps up
Posted on November 11, 2011The Golden Apple Theatre’s production of Making Love In A Canoe has now wrapped up, after playing to enthusiastic crowds for five performances plus a preview.
Created and performed by Regina-born Kyle Golemba, Making Love in a Canoe is a celebration of the finest in Canadian musical theatre.
Kyle has spent the last six years performing in a wide range of productions in theatres coast-to-coast, including four seasons at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. After Canoe, he will be returning for his fifth season to play Andy Lee in 42nd Street. Past Stratford credits include Kiss Me, Kate (Gremio), West Side Story (A-rab), Evita, Fuente Ovejuna, The Music Man, The Grapes of Wrath, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Cyrano de Bergerac, as well as several understudy performances of Che in Evita, Bill in Kiss Me, Kate, Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar, and Connie Rivers in The Grapes of Wrath. Kyle also appeared in the Toronto transfer of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. His other credits include Gilbert in Anne of Green Gables for Stage West, Rolf in The Sound of Music for Neptune Theatre, Roy in Anne and Gilbert for the Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre, and Prince Christopher in Cinderella for the Grand Theatre. Making Love in a Canoe has been performed across the country, most recently at the prestigious Stratford Summer Music in August 2011.

Kyle Golemba is thrilled to be making his hometown debut with The Golden Apple! Since graduating from college, he’s appeared in such shows as: Anne of Green Gables (Gilbert, Stage West); The Sound of Music (Rolf, Neptune Theatre); Anne and Gilbert (Roy, Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre); and Cinderella (Prince Christopher, Grand Theatre). His film/TV credits include: Queer As Folk (Showtime) and Hairspray (New Line Cinema). After Canoe, he will be returning to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival for his fifth season, appearing in The Pirates of Penzance and as Andy Lee in 42nd Street. In previous seasons, he has played Gremio in Kiss Me, Kate, A-rab in West Side Story, and appeared as an understudy as Bill (Kate), Connie (The Grapes of Wrath), Peter (Jesus Christ Superstar), and Che (Evita).
