About Our Name:
Golden Apples hold a remarkable place in history and mythology. The Ancient Druids used them for divination. The Golden Apples of Iðunn granted the Gods of Valhalla immortality. In “The Arabian Nights”, Prince Ahmed’s Golden Apple cured every disease. In Greek Mythology, the Goddess Eris rolled a Golden Apple into a party to which she was not invited. On it was written καλλίστῃ: “For the Fairest One”. The inevitable battle between jealous Goddesses resulted in the Trojan War. A Golden Apple has the power to heal, to provoke, to inspire and, possibly, to last forever. In naming the theatre company The Golden Apple we express our belief that theatre holds the same powers and possibilities.

About Our Mission:
The Golden Apple Theatre Company’s mandate is to deliver professional theatre, with a preference to presenting small ensemble works from Canadian and international musical theatre and drama repertoire. It is also to employ professional and emerging artists from and/or living in the province of Saskatchewan.
